and frequently asked questions

Why is my domain listed on the whatismyipaddress.com service?

The whatismyipaddress.com service does not query domain listings. Instead, it tries to resolve the domain to an IP address, and only then query that IP in our database. When any IP is listed, it does not mean that the domain associated with that IP was also listed. Most likely this does not happen.

By the way, the whatismyipaddress.com service shows the results in a very confusing way to domain owners, making them believe that their domain was actually listed in our database. Because of this issue, we have revoked whatismyipaddress.com‘s permission to show results about our DNSBL. To receive support on listings shown on whatismyipaddress.com, you must obtain the support directly from whatismyipaddress.com. We can ignore any support requests about results shown by whatismyipaddress.com and we are really sorry for that, because we are not in a position to force whatismyipaddress.com to stop showing results from our DNSBL.

We recommend that domain queries be done by the multirbl.valli.org service because in this service the query is actually done by the domain instead of its IP. The multirbl.valli.org can distinguish between the two cases and show the results clearly. If your domain appears listed on multirbl.valli.org, then only in that case you can contact us to request removal.

Why is my residential IP blacklisted?

Your IP residential was not really blacklisted because our blacklist code is 127.0.0.2 and it was just flagged as 127.0.0.4, that means “this is a residential IP”. This flag code is used by our customers to feed preventive security mail systems. The DNSBL technology is used only by unauthenticated SMTP transactions, that is not your case for sure. So you should not worry about that because there is no harm to you.

Why is my IP blacklisted if I don’t use it as for outgoing email server purposes?

Your host IP was not really blacklisted because our blacklist code is 127.0.0.2 and your IP was just flagged as 127.0.0.4, that means “probably no outgoing mail server running here”. This flag code is used by our customers to feed preventive security mail systems. The DNSBL technology is used only by unauthenticated SMTP transactions, that is not your case for sure. So no harm to you.

I cannot access some web sites when I’m using my listed IP.

Unfortunately you made a false correlation. The DNSBL technology has no relation with website access control. This means your issue has another cause for sure. Please, consult a network professional to help you discover this cause and fix it.

I already stopped all abuses from my mail server, but the reputation still the same. Why?

The SPFBL reputation time frame is seven days. This means you must wait the reputation time frame ends to have your mail server reputation renewed.

If the reputation still the same, after the reputation time frame, this means you didn’t really stopped all abuses from your mail server. In this case, you must do a hard inspection in your machine. You must know if your machine is malware free and all mail messages is sending only by MTA software.

In case your question is not answered above, you can contact us to make your question. However, these contact methods are for mail server administrators only. If you are a final user, please contact your mail server administrator to help you with your issue because we don’t support final users. Please don’t persist!
